Checkout Policies
What do I need in order to check out?
- Patrons must present a library card or photo ID to check out
- Card must be active and in good standing
- Other options are to present a photo of the card barcode or a card in the Libby app
When are materials due?
- Books - 3 weeks
- DVDs - 1 week
- Everything else (audio books, puzzles, toys, etc.) - 3 weeks
Can I renew materials?
- Books and other items will automatically renew once as long as it is not reserved
- You can renew some items by logging in to your account in our catalog
- A staff member may be able to renew other items
- DVDs can only be renewed by a staff member
What if I return something late?
- When one or more items are overdue, you will not be able to check out more items or access digital media until they are returned
- We have no late fees!
- If items are not returned within a timely manner, you may receive a notice in the mail
- If items are not returned after multiple notices, records are turned over to the county attorney to collect the replacement cost of the item
What if I lose an item?
- For lost items, patrons must pay the cost of the item plus a $4 processing fee
- Don't worry if a single puzzle piece or part of a toy is missing, it happens! Please return the item anyway and let us know if you come across it later
What if I damage an item?
- Library books wear out over time, and we can fix many tears, loose pages, and detached spines
- If an item is not returned in shelf-ready condition, patrons must pay the cost of the item plus a $4 processing fee

How many items can I check out at once?
- New patrons may check out two items at a time for their first two months
- After two months, patrons may have:
- 20 items total
- Up to 5 can be DVDs
- Up to 3 books in the same series
What can I check out?
- Books, audio books, puzzles, games, and toys in the cabinet!
