Material Donation Pointers
The Wahoo Public Library appreciates your donation of used book. To be accepted, items must meet specific criteria.
Donated books must meet the following criteria to be considered for the collection:
- Be in good condition
- Copyrighted within the last 5 years
- Make a valuable contribution to the existing collection
- Meet specific needs in a special collection
- Meet the selection standards of the Wahoo Public Library Collection Development Policy
- Or be of historical significance to the Wahoo/Saunders County community
Books, periodicals, VHS, DVD that we cannot use or even dispose of and DO NOT ACCEPT:
- Out-dated informational books 5 years or older
- Books that have been kept in storage and have mildewed
- Books with religious text (ex. Bibles, Hymnals, religious inspirational)
- Reader’s Digest condensed books
- Textbooks and Encyclopedias
- VHS
- Audio Cassette
Exception to the above are donations of vintage books pre 1950 publication in good to very good condition.
Items not considered for the collection will be included in the Friends of the Library book sales.
