Book Description:
Patrick Butler and Melyssa Fleming are a brother and sister duo, among so many other things: parents, successful in their careers, busy volunteer work, podcasting, and now authors. In this, their first book, they reveal their formative experiences - from growing up in the Midwest as children to parents who found that adopting Melyssa would help to fulfill a dream of adding to their family, to quickly finding that extended family, and mental health challenges, would ultimately break them apart. Patrick and Melyssa suddenly found themselves torn from each other at a crucial age when depending on each other as siblings was all that they had known.
What follows is a story that shows how their hope to reunite never faded. They guide us through the important stages of their lives that ultimately shaped them and led them to find each other, heal, and find strength through each other.
The Bond We Share is more than just a memoir. It is a story that shows the impact of the choices we make in our lives, and the lasting effect that those decisions have. It is a story of a bond that was tested, but never broken.
